Matt Dunn’s 700th Div 1 Game

This Wednesday history will be written when Matt Dunn becomes the first player to play 700 Division 1 games for the Goodwood Indians against Glenelg at 6pm at The Reservation.
Matt has spent the majority of his games playing 2nd base and recently has slotted in very well at First Base. His attitude is that he will do whatever it takes to help the team win.

A Gold Glove winner and 4 time Division 1 premiership player Matt is still hungry for more success for our club.
He earned the title “Glory Boy” from consistently delivering in pressure finals situations over numerous campaigns. With his consistent hitting and sure glove work he is a player that you always want in your line up.
700 Div 1 games proves Matt’s dedication and durability to be able to commit to the grind of Div 1 baseball. To be able to keep being selected in Division 1 during one of our club’s most successful periods in our history shows just how good Matt is week in week out.

Matt is the quiet type but is also a leader in our club who is highly regarded amongst his team mates as well as opposition players.
From his early days with the Indians he has always had a “club first” attitude and done anything that is needed within our club from coaching juniors to working bees.
This attitude was imparted to Matt early on by his parents (Lorraine and Danny) who are both Life Members of the GBC.
Matt has been very well supported by his wife Christine and their boys Cody and Tyler and this support has been important to Matt making this historic milestone.
With his likeable nature and the respect he shows to all, Matt is an excellent role model for our juniors coming through the ranks.

700 Division 1 games is a history making achievement, an awesome effort and a very special milestone.

Congratulation Matt – thanks for the many memories you have given us and we look forward to celebrating your achievement this week.

As a footnote to Matt Dunn’s magnificent achievement of 700 Division 1 games last Wednesday night, he now has played more Division 1 games than any other player in SABL history.

Congratulations again #3 – Goodwood Baseball Club is very proud of you!
